Review of my year

review of 2012

2012, I am afraid to say was really not my year. In many ways it was rather a difficult year. Around here I have been a total slacker last year. I am however hoping to do better in 2013- and not just as a blogger.

Despite many obstacles there have been plenty of good moments in 2012! Which is what I wanna keep in mind.
One of the greatest gifts in 2012 was an e-reader. It changed my reading life! Gone are my long quests and waits of finding certain books in Cape Town. Because let's face it I do live at the end of the world- a great end it might be, but when it comes to books, not that fab. One click and a couple of minutes later I can read a newly released book. Tuesdays have become great days! I've been writing a book blog for the last few months. 2012 has been an interesting journey through 150 books...
My last travel adventure in 2012 was to the oldest desert in the world. It's been an amazing trip and I will spill the beans over at Nomade's dwelling in the next few days. Naturally I took hudreds of photos...
At some point I felt a bit stuck with my photography in 2012. I did get a second hand DSLR, finally. Which changed my entire photo experience. I did finish my 52 project and am pondering if I should do one for this year as well, just keep the blog and keep posting?
This was also the year I tried my hand in porcelain. It has been a challenging but increadibly interessting journey. One of the least forgiving but most rewarding mediums I ever worked with.

I kept not one single New Years resolution in 2012- so I made just one this year:

Live in the moment and BE grateful!

Naturally I do have a few projects lined up,  as well
Hope you had a good start
Happy 2013

Review of my week(s)

11

Somehow life has been tumbled upside down and inside out and I have been just holding on to survive the roller coaster.
I have been absent for several reasons- a problem with my computer..small one and it's solved, lots of sadness due to several death in my circle of friends, lots of work, which is going alright after encountering several problems and nearly giving up... so.... I decided that I need to get away - grabbed my friend Z and went off to Langebaan Lagoon. Which was exactly what I needed, being on the road, swimming in the ocean, enjoying good company and re-centering myself. Came home feeling ready to tackle the world again- and got promptly sick.
Ha! fun!
I have (mostly) recovered from my stomach-bug-flu-thing - started thinking about having coffee again and have no fever.
When I looked through my photos of last week I found that this one hits the nail on the head! It's my life last week. Literally and symbolically. Fog clouding the sun but hopefully clearing soon
Hence I chose it as my photo of week 11. For more photos of my 52/2012 project visit here.
I will be back later in the week with more snaps of my trip, details about my newest project and some monochrome love.
Happy Monday!

Photo of last Week

1

one

It has been nearly a year that I finished my 365 and as 2011 came to a close I was finding myself considering doing another one. I found that I have become much more reluctant to take my camera along and hadn't really done much photography in December. But a 365 is a rather big commitment- and I still haven't done anything with the one I finished. {which brings me to the question; What do people do with their finished 365?} I did consider for a brief moment to do a 365 on my iPhone-- but as much as I love iphoneography, I think of it as a fun toy...and felt I would spoil my fun by putting pressure onto it. So I kind of forgot the subject. Until after New Year I looked at some of the finished 365 Projects some flickr friends had done... which gave me the idea to take a photo a week! And it turns out I am not the only one.. there is a group on flickr. And Cindy is joining in too! {I am especially looking forward to hers!}. Why don't you join us?!

So here is the first of hopefully 52 photos.
I think it does actually describe my week perfectly- pretty good but nothing specific
