I was born in
also known as Switzerland.
I lived there until I met O...
it took us over 8 countries and 3 continents and we ended up here...
for now anyhow...
neither of us is totally committed to settling down.
Should we decided to do so, I have a small list of things I would need to nest
bookshelves! lots of them, for all our books we already treasure and for the ones we will find in the future...
a place to have a few plants, to grow veggies and herbs. and preferably big enough to have al fresco luncheons and dinners...
the ideal home would be either
A chalet in the mountains
a beach cottage
or ideally all four of them! spending 3month at the time in each home...;)
but back to the question what home means to me? As you can see from the above, it does not really mean a place or a house. It is where my friends are, my family and most of all O.
It is tacky but home is where the heart is...
and pieces of my heart are all over the world, with dear friends and family...
I am lucky enough to be one of 300 blogger who are taking part in victoria's pin-it-forward. Each one of us is creating a pinboard, and blogs about what home means to us.
The list of all participants can be found here. Links for the photos above are on my pinboard.
Make sure you visit hayley & rose tomorrow.

beautiful post! thank you so much for sharing your inspirational images with us! :)
I adore your meaning of home SO much. Great post! Great board. Great photos. Love it.
Sometimes planing a dream home is just as much fun as having a real one.
lovely post...
and since we are talking kitchens- check out meg ryan´s kitchen in the new elle deco... big hugs!
wonderful post and i couldn't agree more. love all your favorites and would find it hard to choose just one of those homes, too. enjoy your week and welcome home!
I think this is a beautiful post. Pin it forward was so much fun to do. Thanks for visiting.

I love that your ideal home could be many different places – city apartment, beach cottage. It doesn't really matter where it's located. The only thing that matters is what's inside.
OMG! i loved your "pin it forward" post and what home means to you and your story. how fun to have been able to pick up, go, and settle for a little bit in so very many different places. loved your idea of having all 4 homes and spending 3 months in each. that would be bliss! thanks for coming by my blog and for your sweet comment. i really appreciate that! i am now your newest follower! glad to meet you!
hey, what a fun post! i loved reading on an on about what you would need to be comfortable and happy. and i'm right there with you! i'm feeling an era of nomad coming on soon with my guy. my son will be off to college in the next year and we are getting itchy to not necessarily move permanently but to explore and be inspired and interested! thanks for the inspiration to do so!
I love the feeling of freedom in your post while still feeling home. I also love the photo you chose for your corner studio, just lovely.
