Review of my Week
Week #2
It's been a good week. I am enjoying my 365 Project. Busy with work, enjoying the warm weather in Cape Town and have hopelessly failed at my let's- do-the -blogging -thing -again endeavour. I should mention that I have some internet connection problems, hence my plan got sidetracked. Still I have hope.
How was your week?

Inspirations
It all started with this...
A bit of dried up husk from a corn cob...
And ever since I've been seeing structures every where The lines that bind it all together rather than the outer form.

Let's try this.... again
It has been a long, long time since I did blog around here.
There are actually two reasons for this:
In the last two years things shifted in my professional and personal life, and left me with very little time to be creative. The other reason, I haven't had a properly functioning camera for nearly 2years. Which is beyond frustrating and meant very little photographing happened, except on my iPhone.
I've been however reading just as much as always... and am still part of the Closet Geeks.
So a few weeks back I kinda decided to start Nomad's Dwellings- where I will share recipes and other food stuff, all about travelling and my street photography. Basically a lifestyle blog. In fact I've been asked to share recipes and travel tips for many years, but somehow never was sure if I wanted to do it.
Since I am going spend more time in my studio in 2015, so I thought I should resurrect my good oldie blog.
I have decided to do another 365 this year, on my iPhone. I shall share them every Mondays, cause the Review of my Week is back.
So 2015 has been good so far. I am looking forward to all it brings.
How have you been? What have I missed?

My Creative Space
I was given this beautiful yarn by my friend A.
She saw it and thought of me. It's by my favorite yarnie... (which she did unwittingly) and its grey! sigh!
Well, she does know me very well. :)
It is kinda too hot for me to knit at the moment, but I am browsing patterns instead and planning what I will do with 500m of this gorgeousness... one of my favorite things about knitting. At this point in time I am thinking a cowl.. any ideas or suggestions?

Pretty Ugly
I have a thing for scaffolding- which is by now public knowledge- and pretty ugly things. You know when its so ugly its cool again? Especially if it's architecture. I kinda love these two buildings - their total lack of beauty make me wonder what was the architect thinking... But the utter ugly structure transforms into a really pretty pattern... which I kinda dig. Guess that makes me kinda weird? Or I unwittingly got what the architecture was trying to achieve?
Nah, I rather stick with being kinda weird
Happy weekend!
PS: I got tons of photos I haven't shared during my long absence... so be prepared for an overload of my photography

My Creative Space
When I saw the planner Alisa did, I was totally inspired to do my own.
So I took an old folder
divided it up
made monthly diary pages
added a section for notes
a space where I jot down ideas for blogging
a place to keep photos,
an address section and some nice sketch paper

space and place for everything!
e voila! my 2013 planner/journal

its a work in progress that will be finished by the end of the year

Review of my year
2012, I am afraid to say was really not my year. In many ways it was rather a difficult year. Around here I have been a total slacker last year. I am however hoping to do better in 2013- and not just as a blogger.
Despite many obstacles there have been plenty of good moments in 2012! Which is what I wanna keep in mind.
One of the greatest gifts in 2012 was an e-reader. It changed my reading life! Gone are my long quests and waits of finding certain books in Cape Town. Because let's face it I do live at the end of the world- a great end it might be, but when it comes to books, not that fab. One click and a couple of minutes later I can read a newly released book. Tuesdays have become great days! I've been writing a book blog for the last few months. 2012 has been an interesting journey through 150 books...
My last travel adventure in 2012 was to the oldest desert in the world. It's been an amazing trip and I will spill the beans over at Nomade's dwelling in the next few days. Naturally I took hudreds of photos...
At some point I felt a bit stuck with my photography in 2012. I did get a second hand DSLR, finally. Which changed my entire photo experience. I did finish my 52 project and am pondering if I should do one for this year as well, just keep the blog and keep posting?
This was also the year I tried my hand in porcelain. It has been a challenging but increadibly interessting journey. One of the least forgiving but most rewarding mediums I ever worked with.
I kept not one single New Years resolution in 2012- so I made just one this year:
Live in the moment and BE grateful!
Naturally I do have a few projects lined up, as well
Hope you had a good start!
Hope you had a good start!
Happy 2013,

Spring!
It's Daisy time in the Western Cape, also known as spring in other areas of the world.
So I am snapping and sketching the living carpets of colour and gorgeousness as often as I manage to. (oh and yes: this is a warning! lots of flowers are gonna make its way round here in the next couple of weeks)

Review of my week
It was a week of research and edits. Intermingled with flu and the decision to make it a 3day weekend.
For some reason also managed to carry round a camera with an empty battery for most of the week. And when I finally remembered to charge it, i forgot to put it back into to the camera i still was holing around... I am not sure if it was tragic or comical, when it took me more than 5 minutes to figure out why my camera wasn't working, panic attack and all....
Spring is upon the Cape and the light is fabulous for snaps. The whole place is screeming pretty and happy at this moment. LOTS of flowers around and many happy faces!
Now that I managed to charge the camera battery and actually put it back into the camera I might manage to take more snaps this week.

m.i.a
The thing about being MIA, I got not many excuses. Well, actually I have a whole list of them. But honestly, they all not totally valid. Truth is I have had absolutely no blogging mojo. Yes, I have been extremly busy, rather sick most of August and I have been re-shuffling things. BUT I have been there before. I was truthfully contemplating to actually call it a day, consider to take leave of this space... After going through a few weeks of doubting my exsitence of talent in the artisan field, I came up with the conclusion, well I am not THAT talented, which isnt news to me. I am a jack of all trades, again no news. BUT I AM OK WITH THAT. Because I really enjoy it.
So here i am again, after I having decided to go on with my musings.
I have re-shuffled things a bit. Trying to bring more clarity to my jack of all trades situation... so bare with me. I am going to be done hopefully by next Monday. *and this time its for real!*
Visit 52 for a little review of my year.
See you soon again

My Creative Space
For the next month I am concentrating on my porcelain project. So, many more wonky bowl and plant paintings will be featuring round here in the near future. It also means more broke pieces, endless hours of painting, more research into glazes and oxides and more experimenting. I am really excited to go on with my porcelain discovery journey.
